The six-month hurricane season officially began on June 1 and will continue through November 30.
Should a tropical storm or hurricane approach our campus this year, emergency information will be communicated before, during, and in the post-disaster recovery phases via:
- Institution-wide E-mails
- The Wertheim UF Scripps Institute Emergency Hotline: (561) 228-2999
- UF Alert Mass Notification System
- The institute’s website home page and this storm information page.
- The institute’s social media channels:

To register with UF Alert and to ensure your emergency contact information is up to date, please login to OneUF. Look for a box that says, “Profile Information” and click on “VERIFY CONTACT INFO.” Scroll down page and select, “Yes, send me alerts from these locations:” Click “System Wide” and “UF Alert-Scripps.” Here’s what to look for:

All employees should check with their principal investigators for any procedures specific to their department. International students and scholars should also check with the International Services Office to help ensure their safety and accountability.
