Nov. 6 to Nov. 16
International Photo Contest – Vote for Your Favorite Photo
Open to Scripps Research graduate students only.
To celebrate International Education Week, the ISO and the Office of Graduate Studies is hosting the 4th Annual International Photo Contest. This is a bi-coastal event. Photographers of all levels are invited to submit their best travel-related photo from any time in the past five years, starting Monday, November 6, 2023.
Whether you have photos of cities, nature, people, or landscapes, as long as they have a travel theme, photos can be of any subject matter you choose. Scripps Research Graduate students are eligible to enter.
Submit your photo along with a brief caption between Nov. 6 and Nov. 10. To do so, click this link. It will go live on November 6. The deadline to submit a photo is midnight local time on Friday, November 10, 2023.
During International Education Week from Nov. 13-16, the entire campus will have an opportunity to view the entries and vote for their favorite(s).
The same link will be used to vote.
The top three photographers with the most votes on each campus will win prizes on each campus. The deadline to vote for your favorite photo will be 4 p.m. local time on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023. Winners will be announced at events on each campus on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023.
How to Vote: From November 13-16, vote for your favorite photo using the blue Vote button in the photo viewer, or by using the Vote link that appears when hovering over a thumbnail image. Vote for one photo, or if you can’t decide, vote for your top favorites! Please enter your name and email address when you vote. Please do not share the link with anyone outside of the two campus communities. Thank you for participating and enjoy the many beautiful photos!

Diwali, or Dipawali, is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. Come and celebrate with your friends and colleagues and learn the significance of this special holiday. Join us for a Friendsgiving International Potluck. Enjoy a fun evening with delicious food, company of friends and colleagues, and activities. Job Search Success for Internationals – Sponsored by CPDO
6 – 7 p.m. via Zoom. Are you interested in a career in the United States? Come hear from a panel of international alumni who have been successful at navigating a domestic job search. Yao Xiao, Ph.D, Senior Scientist at Illumina, Kyle McClymont, Ph.D., Scientist II at Treeline Biosciences, and Denis Malyshev, Ph.D., founder at eGlint INC, will serve on the panel. Join us for a gathering of cultures with diverse activities, cultural performances, international food, music, and fun! All students, faculty and staff are invited to represent their home country by wearing their traditional cultural attire and participating in the parade of flags! You will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes and participate in a Chopsticks Challenge. We will also be announcing the Florida winners of the International Photo Contest. Cooking Around the Globe – A Taste of India – Sponsored by SDA
